Dale Steyn bowled a tight Super Over to prevent the Royal Challengers Bangalore from beating Sunrisers Hyderabad after the sides were locked in a tie at 130 runs each in their IPL match on Sunday.
Hyderabad scored 20 runs courtesy two sixes from Cameron White in the Super Over with Dale Steyn restricting Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli to 15 runs in six balls.
Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Hyderabad struggled to reach the score with the failure of top order barring captain Virat Kohli, who was top scorer with 46, which included five hits to the boundaries and one over the fence.
Moises Henriques played a fine knock of 44 (5x4) to support the skipper and saved the team from a complete disaster.
Barring the two, no other batsman could reach double figures.
Ishant Sharma claimed 3 for 27 while Amit Mishra once again impressed with figures of 4-0-15-1. Dale Steyn, Perera, Vihari and Ashish Reddy bagged a wicket each.
Hanuma Vihari kept Sunrisers in the hunt with 44 not out.
Vinay Kumar took the game into a Super Over after conceding just six runs in the final over. But went from hero to zero in the Super Over for Bangalore by giving away 20 runs.
